Rush Street Gaming, the parent company of BetRivers, has been involved in the gambling industry since 2009 and impresses with land-based casinos in Illinois, New York and Pennsylvania.

In 2019, the company switched from the SugarHouse brand to the BetRivers brand after Rush Street Gaming informed regulators in New Jersey and Pennsylvania that the company planned to eliminate the SugarHouse name and provide its products and services under one recognizable brand name: Rivers Casino. The company is also planning to infiltrate other states to provide the same products and services.

In 2020, Rush Street partnered with Michigan-based Little River Casino Resort to open a retail sportsbook in Manistee, as well as a 2021 launch of online casino games and an online sportsbook.
